Football Manager 27 costs £49.99, €59.99 or $59.99, with 10% off for pre-purchase. What the discount covers and what it does not.
FM27 price and pre-purchase
Football Manager 27 is a full-price release: £49.99 in the UK, €59.99 in the eurozone and $59.99 in the US. Pre-purchasing takes 10% off, which brings the US price to $53.99 on Steam. The discount applies to the base game, not to add-ons, and it ends when the game launches on 10 November.
That is the whole pricing story. There is no deluxe edition with a head start, no season pass and no early-access tier. The only thing money buys before release is the discount and, from 3 November, access to the paid Launch Preview.
What you get for the price
A single purchase includes the full game, both the Windows and Mac builds, and the pre-game editor. The store lists in-app purchases, which in practice means the in-game editor is sold as a separate add-on inside the game rather than bundled. If you only want to rename a stadium or fix a kit colour, the pre-game editor is already free and does most of it.
The Launch Preview is included with a pre-purchase from a participating digital retailer. It is not a separate product and it is not a subscription.

Price by store
| Store | Currency | List price | Pre-purchase |
|---|---|---|---|
| Steam | USD | $59.99 | $53.99 |
| Steam | GBP | £49.99 | 10% off at checkout |
| Steam | EUR | €59.99 | 10% off at checkout |
| Epic Games Store | local | matches Steam | 10% off |
| Microsoft Store | local | matches Steam | 10% off |
Regional pricing means the numbers will not convert neatly. Steam's recommended regional prices are usually lower in Turkey, Argentina, Brazil and much of Asia; the discount percentage stays the same.
FM27 saves are local files, but cloud sync is tied to the store. Mixing stores between years is fine; mixing stores inside one long save is not. If your FM26 save is on Steam, buy on Steam.
Is the pre-purchase discount worth it
Ten percent is small. It is worth taking if you were going to buy at launch anyway, because the Launch Preview adds five days of early play and the save carries over. It is not worth taking if you are unsure about the game, because the free preview window from 29 October to 3 November lets you try the build without paying.
The maths is simple: the discount saves about the price of a coffee. The preview is the actual value.
What the free preview includes
From 29 October, 18:00 GMT to 3 November, 18:00 GMT, the Launch Preview is free on Steam, Epic, the Microsoft Store, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. No key, no registration, no time limit inside the window. Every mode is open and progress carries into retail.
The paid preview runs from 3 November to release for pre-purchasers. It is the same build. The only difference is that you keep playing after the free window closes.
Add-ons and in-game purchases
The store page flags in-app purchases. Historically that means the in-game editor, sold inside the game for a few pounds, plus nothing else. There is no ultimate team, no card packs and no boost currency.
The FM27 editor page explains what the in-game editor can change and where the free pre-game editor is the better tool.
Refunds
Steam's refund window applies as normal: under two hours of play, within fourteen days. A pre-purchase that has not unlocked can be refunded before release. Time spent in the Launch Preview counts as play time on Steam, which is worth knowing if you plan to test the game for five days and then decide.
Epic and Microsoft have their own policies; both are less generous with pre-orders than Steam in practice.
Console and Game Pass
The console version does not take pre-orders. The store page opens for wishlisting on 29 October, and pricing is announced closer to that release. The PC price above does not apply.
Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members can play the free preview window without buying the game. That is a trial, not a permanent licence: when the window closes, the game is gone unless you buy it.
The cheapest legitimate route
If you want the lowest price and you are certain:
- Pre-purchase on the store where your save already lives, before 10 November.
- Take the 10% and the included preview.
- Ignore key-reseller sites. FM keys are region-locked and the discount is not large enough to justify the risk.
If you are not certain, use the free window. Five days is enough to know whether the new tactical layer and the match engine suit you, and the tactics guide will tell you what to look for while you are in there.
What changed since FM26
The price has not moved much in local currency, but the value has shifted: the pre-game editor remains free, the database is larger, and the preview replaces the old beta. There is no paid upgrade path from FM26. Each year is a separate purchase, and saves do not transfer forward — only the database knowledge does.
